Note from Head of School

Welcome to The Avenue Preschool, where we strive to provide our students with endless opportunities to broaden their social, life, and emotional skills.

As a firm believer that the first five years of your life shape the next eighty, I’ve always been drawn to making a genuine difference in a child’s life. As Head of School, I can truly echo the sentiment expressed above. At The Avenue, my team and I ensure that child development does not mean molding a child into the person you think they should be, but rather assisting them in becoming the best person they can be.

It is our commitment to you that each child will receive a high-quality education that is enjoyable, challenging, and nourishing. And through my experiences, I will be leading our team to ensure that each child is admired for who they are, where they come from, and the values that they bring to The Avenue’s family. Furthermore, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS) curriculum, I have developed a teaching syllabus that aims to provide a reliable, valid, and accurate assessment of each child’s development by the end of the academic year.

Our teachers are also trained to use their professional judgement to make these assessments based on their knowledge and understanding of what the child knows, understands, and can do, as well as to identify areas where children may be at risk of falling behind so that we can provide rapid and effective support. Along with our curriculum, I believe that experiential learning gained from sports and classroom activities provides a wealth of skills and character-building qualities that create a balance in a child’s development. And, by the end of their preschool experience, the child will have gained skills such as teamwork, commitment, communication, empathy for others, organization, and self-awareness through lessons, conversations with staff members, and resilience building activities.

Finally, our highly skilled, certified, and experienced staff attend regular trainings and workshops throughout the academic year to refine their skills and enhance their expertise, as at the end of the day, our collective goal is to make a difference in your child’s life and educational journey.

On that note, I look forward to welcoming you to The Avenue School Community.

Warm Wishes,

Alina Dewji,
Head of School
